New York Liberty Partners with WNBA and AT&T for “Her Time to Play” Clinic
In celebration of the WNBA Finals and International Day of the Girl, the New York Liberty, WNBA, and AT&T collaborated to host a Her Time to Play Clinic at Ebbets Field Middle School in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The event started with a panel discussion hosted by Ari Chambers, and spoke with NY Liberty players, Nyara Sabally, Kayla Thornton, and Jocelyn Willoughby about balancing life and basketball, staying positive through adversity, and advice for future female ballers.The 70 participants took part in a variety of activities including a clinic focusing on basketball fundamentals and creating their own vision board to represent their boldest selves.
Her Time to Play is an opportunity for young girls to collaborate through youth basketball while also building visibility in women’s sports. The WNBA and AT&T’s goal is to empower women and build the next generation of women champions.
